The Resource Center: Strengthening Our Communities for Radical Change

The Resource Center has evolved over the past few years to become a hub of activity that supports the organizing work of ALP. Led by volunteers and staff through a working group, the resource center offers organizing trainings, political education events and health and wellness workshops that build our understanding of important issues and prepares us for action! In addition, the working group coordinates arts/cultural events that inspire action, build resistance to injustice and renew spirit. Need meeting space or other resources? LGBTSTGNC POC Groups can access meeting space and office infrastructure through the Audre Lorde Project!

Meeting Space Accommodations

Meeting space is available at ALP during the following hours of operation. Please schedule space no less than two weeks in advance of your event/meeting. Many of the meeting accommodations at ALP are shared with the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church and are made available at the church's courtesy. Not all space is wheelchair accessible.

Mondays & Fridays: 12pm-6pm
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays: 12pm-8:30pm
Saturday: 11:30-7:30pm
Sundays: Closed

Meeting Rooms Available / Fees

Resource Room - 3rd floor
($25 for 2 hours)
Cozy, air-conditioned multi-purpose room. Accommodates 30 people in lecture style seating / 10-12 people at the conference table. Includes wall space for presentations.

Jarvie Room or Lecture Room - 1st floor
($75 for 3 hours / member organizations: $50 for 3 hours)
Large lecture rooms. Good for large events and meetings. Accommodates 100 people in lecture style seating. No air conditioning. Adjacent kitchen available. Wheelchair accessible.

The charge for additional hours will be pro-rated. Rates are subject to change at any time.

Office Infrastructure

  • Mailing address including the receipt of faxes ($60/year)
  • Voicemail extension ($15/month)
  • Outgoing fax service (.25 for first 4 pages local, .10 each additional page)
  • Copier usage (white paper .15 per page/.20 per page color paper)
  • Computer use ($5/hour when available)
